Having been a fan of this game on older formats, I bought this game mainly because I wanted a no thrills racing game you can just turn on play.
I have to choose with some of the others here, that the steering feels like you’re skating around on ice all the time. I’ve never been a huge fan of by the thumbstick controls to steer, as they seem to be over-sensitive – surely with this game. A affront turn to the left or right & the car wants to turn 90 degrees ! You alway feel in unremitting battle with the car, even keeping it on a straight road.
The Quick Race option is trying, as the 6 cars you race against are long gone after the initially corner of the track, even though you have done nothing ill-treat ? It’s as if your car is in a entirely different class, and you spend most of the race before a live audience catch up.
By and large an average game.

If you’re looking for an over-the-top rally racing game look no additional than Sega Rally Revo. If you’re looking for a hardcore rally experience this isn’t the game for you, reckon of Sega Rally as the Crumple Racer of rally games.
There are a handful of offline options such as Championship, Time Trial and Free Run. Championship is the heart of the game where you compete for points in multiple sets of 3 or 4 races. The points you earn during the Championship allocate you to unlock new championships, tracks and cars, all of which can be used in the other offline modes as well as online. You don’t need to win every race to unlock items, you may only need to score a whole of 240 points out of a possible 280 to unlock everything.
There are three main groups of cars in Sega Rally, Head of state, Modified and Classic. Head of state are your modern WRC rally cars, Modified are mostly cars from the smaller rally championships around the world and the Classics are the ancient Group B monsters from the 80′s. You can unlock new liveries for the cars when you hit 20 miles and 50 miles driven in each particular car. This helps to spread out the use of each car even if you’ll probably find one or two models that you’ll use over and over.
Track selection is a small light, there are five enviroments, Tropical, Safari, Chasm, Alpine and Artic, another is unlocked later in the game. Each enviroment facial appearance three tracks all of which can be unlocked to be raced in reverse. One excellent business is that none of the tracks are terrible tracks, in fact I’d say that for the most part they’re all exceptionally well laid out. Geo-Deformation allows for deep ruts to be carved into the track while racing. These ruts can really pull your car around and play into racing strategy.
Online options are overflowing and fun and lag is non-existant. Full online Championships can be made and raced among friends. Nothing groundbreaking here but it works well and adds to the repeat value.
Graphically the game looks very nice with not much more than a hint of aliasing and the framerate seems a steady 30fps at all times. There are some nice effects such as cars being paid muddy and then having the mud washed off by a large puddle. The enviroments are nice to look at and offer a lot of variety between each. Watching the Aurora Borealis while racing the Artic is reasonably an experience.
By and large, Sega Rally Revo is a fun rally game that manages to take you back to the days of reducing quids into an arcade machine. I’d urge the game to anyone looking for a unadorned, fun rally experience.

The king of the Arcade is finally back with an (at last!) worthy sequel. This has to be the most fun driving experiance on any system, and thats before you’v even fired up xbox live! Online this really comes into its own, Quick fun and Mad (like the original arcade game)!! Sega have struck gold with this game. And on top of that it looks brilliant with outstanding scenery!
Delight in!!!
P. s for those lacking an in depth racer with settings galore, look somewhere else!

Now if your looking for a rally game where you spend most of the time trying to buy car parts and sup up your car then this isnt the game for you, this is in the end the 2007 version of the original Sega Rally and i havnt stoped before a live audience it, its fantastic, turn on jump into a quick race, and boom it round some stunning tracks, also theres 2 player mode as well which is brill. I remember i loved the original and i like this version, 5 Stars Sega.

This is a rally game that is so much fun to play, with fantastic gameplay and bright colourful visuals. This is very simple to learn and trying to master as the AI cars in the game are quick, but the incentive to do well is that theres lots to unlock. The graphics are simply stunning, with hot air balloons waterfalls and even giraffes and elephants walking round on the safari courses! keep your eyes on the road though! The game can get lightning quick and the joy of this game is the fact that other cars make tyre marks in the dirt etc which slows you down – such attention to detail! if you loved outrun you will delight in this, as this is arcadey in top, and doesnt take itself too seriously. The online facility makes this a game you will play for ages as if and when you beat the pc, you can really up the ante with real creature players, which works very well. I don’t know this is less serious that dirt its huge rival) but thats not a terrible business at all as this is much more instantly playable for those people like me that just want to race and have fun! reminds me of outrun with mud and much much better. Highly recommended fun for all ages.
